Open House for Sustainable Business Training Academy offers a Green Showcase Opportunity for the public.

(St. Catharine's, ON) January 16th, 2009 – Few realize that on a daily basis we make choices which affect the state of the world. Transportation, food, paper products, consumer purchases, the homes we live in and how we operate our businesses all leave the largest carbon footprint on the planet. A local St. Catharine's business owner, their employees and business partners have made a conscious choice to lessen the impact on their carbon print. Christine Rae, President of Certified Staging Professionals and author of (Wiley Publishing) Home Staging for Dummies invites business professionals and eco-conscious individuals to tour the newly green remodeled CSP™ International Business Training Academy located at 36 Hiscott St Suite 100 in St. Catharine's, ON. Canada. Wednesday, January 21st, 2009
Media only hour at 4pm and doors open to the public from 5pm to 8:30pm. Tour begins at 6pm after a ribbon cutting ceremony.

“ More often than not commercial buildings need remodeling for a business to move into and operate effectively. Choices are made for flooring, paint, cleaning, furniture, window treatment, garbage disposal and other maintenance challenges.“ Says Christine Rae “In this facility we had an opportunity to educate people how the state of the planet affects their bottom line and show them that its not as arduous or expensive task to choose green when remodeling their office or home, selling a property or starting a business; the long term savings are well worth the investment today, Green Build Council stats say for every $1 invested there is a $20 ROI. You can't get returns like that anywhere else today. The CSP Business Training Academy will conduct “green“ classes through out the year, and I hope the facility will be both an inspiration and educational beacon so everyone can do their part!“

With the assistance of many of CSP Green Partners, the St. Catharine's location has been retrofitted with many green features. American Standard and Bathworks joined forces to provide the plumbing products, changing older water wasting bathroom fixtures into low flow water saving efficient products. McNamara & Reynolds and their suppliers outfitted the building with six types of green flooring; Wicanders' Bamboo, Dansk's Cork, Forbo's Marmoluim, (Click, Tile and Sheet) and InterfaceFLOR carpet tile. Hunter Douglas reduced the loss of energy by providing efficient window coverings to manage heat and cold elements. Sherwin Williams supplied the zero VOC paint for the majority of the interior walls, plus ICI Paint will be showcasing their green friendly exterior product in the spring. Boomerang Paint – showcased two of the interior rooms illustrating how disposing of old paint can be recycled into one of their 16 colour choices. Jones DesLauriers Insurance assisted CSP in replacing all T12 lighting with T8 fixtures and bulbs throughout resulting in a 33% immediate saving of electricity. Niagara Minuteman Press will be printing the case study of the building on recycled paper products for visitors to take away through out the many tours CSP will be providing in 2009, and the whole facility is powered with Bullfrog power.
